Background
The idea of the HELP Clinic was born in September 2004 by a group of senior
students and graduates from the Allen College of Homoeopathy, who wished to
spread the word of Classical Homoeopathy amongst the local community and
provide a quality service at a much reduced cost. Additionally, their aim
was to give graduates and final year students from the Allen College the
opportunity to gain clinical experience in a safe environment. Hence the
name - Homoeopathy for Everyone in a Learning Partnership – HELP. The first
clinic took place on 21 September 2005 within the College grounds and it was
a success from the outset.
Today, it continues to be managed and run by graduates & senior students of
the Allen College and the Clinic’s Mission Statement remains the same:
“A quality service is
offered at the HELP Clinic to promote a healthy society through
complementary medicine. Within this clinic we value each individual,
encourage mutual respect, honesty and commitment. In return, we are given
the opportunity to learn and observe and by working on a non-profitable
basis make our knowledge of classical homoeopathy available to all.”
Allen College sponsors the Clinic and the Principal and Vice Principal, Dr.
Subrata Banerjea and Mrs. Janet Robinson-Banerjea respectively, are involved
in an advisory capacity.
Who can be treated at the
HELP Clinic
We believe Homoeopathy is suitable for everyone, from the very young,
before, during and after pregnancy for both mum & baby, through to the
elderly. It is a gentle treatment, which uses natural homoeopathic medicine
that stimulates the body to heal itself.
At the HELP Clinic we welcome everybody for whatever reason they are
interested in us. This may be for example, a wish to find out more about
Homoeopathy, an attraction to our easy accessibility and combined
appointment or drop-in style of practice or simply a desire to be treated
homoeopathically in a learning environment at a reflected price.
As stated in our mission statement one of the Clinic’s fundamental aims is
to make Homoeopathy available to everyone, so with this aim in mind and with
the Clinic run on a non-profitable basis, we are able to offer a
consultation including medicine for £2.
“ Together we are building a learning partnership ”
